| GP9 9087 was part of an order
approved on November 19, 1954 for the purchase of 70
GP9's(9048-9117). 9087 was completed in February 1955, and
assigned to the St. Louis Terminal. 9087 came out the
Paducah Shops' rebuilding program as IC GP10 8087 in April, 1970.
It was damaged in a grade crossing accident at Hills, Minnesota on
August 10th,1978 and received the solid orange scheme. It was sold off Mid-South Rail Corporation
in March of 1986 and renumbered MSRC 1002. It was transferred to KCS
in June of 1993. Who sold it to OmniTRAX in 1997. Which
transferred it to the Great Western Railway who renumbered it GWRX 1002. Notes: Only one of these units with "Frog-Eyes". Date in Solid Orange: ?? - ?? |
