GP11 8704 |
|
Dan Bohannon |
| Illinois Central, and later
Illinois Central Gulf, was having so much success rebuilding geeps that
they started buying units that were from other railroads. UP 186B
was built in April 1954 and the fact it didn't have a cab wasn't as bad you
would first think. It was rebuilt into 8704 and was
released in June of 1979. 8704 was later repainted into the new IC
black and white scheme. It was retired on September 29th 1998 and
on the 29th sold to
"TRANS-MARK." It was moved to the Maumee and Western
railroad and renumber MAW 8. Notes: Note the lack of a "GP11" tag. Tags weren't applied until the 8710 unit. Date in Solid Orange: June 14th 1979 - ?? |
