| Built in August of 1969, this unit
started as GM&O 704. When the IC and GM&O merged, it
stayed GM&O 704 until being repainted in this scheme, becoming ICG
9523. It was sold to Neosha Rail service on April 8th,
1994. Later that year sold to National Railway Equipment at
Silvis, Illinois. It was sold in February 1995 to Railtex for the New England Central Railroad, first as 9523,
then becoming NECR 3846. It was damaged beyond repair in a
derailment near Wilmington, Vermont on April 10th, 2001 and ended up in
the Connecticut River. It was moved to St. Albans Vermont later that
month and is being used for spare parts. Notes: This unit has non-standard initials, leading to the idea that this unit was repainted at Woodcrest, instead of the Paducah Shops. One of only two GM&O units to receive this scheme. Date in Solid Orange: ?? - ?? |
